"Animated
Map: Operation Overlord." BBC History. BBC, n.d. Web. 16 Feb 2014.
This site helped us by providing us with information for our landings and the beaches taken place during D-day. We also got extra information about Operation Overlord that we used in our page. It was very useful because for the landings we got a little animation video of how and where the landings happened all over Europe, and how the invasion took place. It also provided us with a little caption and extra information that was interesting and made D-day easier for us to understand.
Trueman, Chris. "Operation Overlord." History Learning Site: Operation Overlord. N.p., n.d. Web. 16 Feb 2014. <http://www.historylearningsite.co.uk/operation_overlord.htm >.
This site gave me some of the names of the overall commanders of Operation Overlord and what Operation Overlord really meant and what it was all about, the planning and logistics behind Overlord and why Normandy beach was chosen. Also it provided with information about the other plans and what happened when the real invasion happened.
"D-day, 1944." The National Archives . N.p.. Web. 16 Feb 2014. <http://www.nationalarchives.gov.uk/battles/dday/>.
This site helped us get information for Operation Overlord, what happened before the actual invasion, the process of planning it, why Normandy was chosen, what was secretly going on during the planning of D-day and what Germany was doing to prepare and their security. This website helped a lot because although we only had a limited amount of information we got a lot out of it that not only helped for one of our categories but we got information and facts for all of them.
"D-Day June 6, 1944." U.S Army. N.p.. Web. 16 Feb 2014. <http://www.army.mil/d-day/ >.
This website was probably the most useful, because it had different topics to choose from so all the information was in there. I knew for a fact that all the information on this page was accurate and correct since it’s from the Army. Although most of the information we already knew, it provided with a little more than what we knew and it was worded different which helped.
"Normandy Invasion D-Day Landings, 6 June 1944." Naval History&Heritage. N.p.. Web. 16 Feb 2014. < http://www.history.navy.mil/photos/events/wwii-eur/normandy/nor4.htm >.
This website gave us all the information for our landings. It provided us with a small overview of what D-day was and gave us the specifics on what happened on every landing and any information needed for it. Told us the reason and why every beach was chosen, the bad and good that came with them and the statists and reasoning. It had pictures and a little description to know what happened.
"Operation Overlord." The Great Armada. N.p.. Web. 16 Feb 2014. <http://homepage.ntlworld.com/ratpit1/page4.html >.
This website gave us a map describing the invasion plan in great detail and the significance of the ‘X’ Boats. Also had information of all landing grounds and beaches and specific sites. It was helpful because with the information from other websites we had the opportunity to put it all together and understand the importance of every landing site and what came out of each and how it contributes to the wining of the Allied powers.
